Journey of team aiimers that how we took actions to control Plastic waste

Hi, I’m Dinesh Goyal and I’m a Solve Ninja who’s passionate about protecting the environment. Today, I want to share my journey of how our team tackled plastic waste littering in our school using the DISS method (Discover, Investigation, Solve, Share)!

While spending time around the school campus, we noticed a major issue—plastic waste littering. From empty wrappers to plastic bottles, the problem was everywhere. Our team decided that we needed to do something about it.

:detective: I – Investigation
We started observing the areas where most of the littering happened and spoke to students to understand their habits. We conducted poll surveys too in Class groups. We found out that most students weren’t even aware of how harmful plastic waste could be. This made it clear that awareness was the first step.

We began taking action by conducting speeches in classrooms to spread awareness and involved students through surveys. We also encouraged creativity—by collecting single-use plastic bags and turning them into useful items like wallets!
To reach a wider audience, we designed posters and shared informative stories on Instagram, motivating more students to join the movement for a plastic-free school.

This experience brought real change to our school environment. Students became more aware and started taking small steps to reduce plastic use. I truly believe that when we take initiative, we can create a bigger impact. Our journey proved that awareness, teamwork, and creativity can solve even big problems.

Let’s keep solving, one step at a time! :seedling::flexed_biceps:
